I met a Puppy as I went walking;
We got talking,
Pup and I.

'Where are you going this fine day?'
(I said to the Puppy as she went by).

'Up in the hills to roll and play.'
'I'll come with you, Puppy,' said I.

Rachel at Eleven Weeks

and at Six Months

We welcome Rachel to Canouan. One of the only two girls in the "Cricketers" litter, Rachel is a Poppet daughter, and her dad is Shipden Uncle Tom Cobley. Bred for brains she certainly has inherited them and is proving a really clever girl.
Now here is a true Canouan. Rachel proved it at Six Months and a few days when she took 3rd in the Puppy Test at the United Spaniel Association Working Assessment, and followed this a few days later with a Best Puppy in Breed, and Puppy Group 4 at Windsor Gundog Society Open Show - The judge was Mr C Troth (Collinsmoore) and it was her very first show. She followed this with:
1st Minor Puppy Bitch Southern Counties Champ Show & 1st Puppy Bitch Leeds Champ Show -and
BEST PUPPY IN BREED
GUNDOG SOCIETY OF WALES CHAMP SHOW
Autumn came and life began!
Rachel took 4th in the Novice Bitch Test at the Show Spaniels Field Day, and thoroughly enjoyed her first season on the shoot.
A real credit to her parents
Rachel we are so proud of you.
Rachel breezed through her Junior career winning many classes, acquitted herself well in her second seasons shooting. She then took a break and produced the "Bowlers" litter, returning to the ring at Crufts three months later where she won the Gamekeepers Pickers Up/Beaters Class for English Springers and the prestigious Shooting Times Trophy. She as handled by her Uncle Peter - thanks Peter. Peter Olsson (Qvarnhill Kennels - Sweden)
Rachel is Eye Tested Clear (August 2006 BVA/KC) and Fucosidosis Clear (non carrier) DNA Test
