We were really looking forward to Crufts this year as Peter, Tomas and Anna were coming to stay and we had not been together for such a long time. We had a brilliant weekend with lots to celebrate, Pomo's Junior Warrant, Poppet's Show Gundog's Working Test, a couple of Qvarnhill Champions in Scandinavia, and each other's company. However we could not have dreamed of the day we had at Crufts itself.
We took five dogs - a great deal of trimming and cleaning them up after the shooting season had been done! Here is how they got on:
Canouan Rachel Heyhoe - Rachel won the Gamekeepers Class for English Springer Spaniels - Beaters/Pickers Up - and was awarded the prestigious Shooting Times Trophy. She was handled by her Uncle Peter.
Canouan Up Pops Poppet - Poppet was third in the Gamekeepers Class for Beaters/Pickers Up and was Second in the Special Working Gundog Bitch Class.
Canouan Viking Flagship - Pomo took Third Place in the Special Yearling Dog Class.
Canouan Viking Venture - Paula was Fourth in the Special Yearling Bitch Class.

Here they are - three generations of Canouan's at Crufts., with their prizes.
A photo to treasure.

and here is Rachel - swanking about with a trophy again!

It was a very long day, but a most enjoyable one, and we were very proud of our dogs.

The day after and the boys have returned to the hard work of trimming and bathing the dogs, before the flight back to Sweden.
Thanks for your company Peter and Tomas it made our day. Pomo also says thankyou to his Uncle Tomas. He was quite bored in the afternoon and that walk just did the trick.
