Pomo is fast approaching his tenth birthday, and as we left for Crufts this year I knew in my heart that it would be our last time on the green carpet.
What a wonderful time we have had at this show. From our first visit in 2005 he has won the prestigious "Shooting Times Trophy and has amassed two class wins, four second places, and three third places. In our six visits he has never been "out of the ribbons" . He loves that green carpet, and shows himself to be the champion that he is.
This year unfortunately the classes for the working gundogs and the breed class clashed and we could only exhibit in the breed class. As usual he showed his socks off and was awarded second place

It was with a heavy heart that I turned
the car towards the ferry port and home.
Time to retire this wonderful boy
from top class competition

Here we are at the windmill at Ymonville,
one of our favourite stopping off places.
A cold morning in Northern France,
Pomo poses for the camera and
I am in bits.

Thank you so much Pomo
You always enjoyed yourself
and never let me down
It has been a privilege

Some memories to treasure
